Our Story

Hi, I’m Alex founder of Aloha,

 

For those of you who have been with me on this journey from 2020 thank you for your continued support, it has been amazing looking back and seeing how much we have grown over the past 3 years.

For those of you who are new to Aloha, Welcome, and I hope we get to know each other a little better.

Let’s start with me, like most people I found myself stuck in limbo during the Covid-19 Pandemic when I had to stop my full time job as a hairdresser. I was spending all my time at home, where I rediscovered my love for creating and making jewellery. My granny first taught me to make jewellery back when I was 9 years old. I would often sit for hours with her creating bracelets, necklaces and earrings. It’s some of my most treasured memories.

While at home and unable to travel I found myself inspired by my memories of summer trips and having such a love of being my the ocean and all things summer, I was full of creativity and soon it became my brand.

I found that by using materials such as freshwater pearls, turquoise gemstones and vibrant glass beads, I was able to capture the essence of summer in my designs. I wanted to create quality, long lasting yet affordable pieces so after trialling different metals, I found 18k gold plated beads and findings worked best for me.

Although my love is truly for summer, I have created a collection that includes both unique, statement jewellery and simple, timeless pieces that are wearable all year round.
